High Five for Friday

So excited to be welcoming another weekend over here!

If you've noticed, I've been a little quieter over here this week because, well, it's been a long week. Jay is working 2nd shift again, so Juliet and I are on our own for the hardest part of our days. My schedule is all off having him home in the morning instead of the evenings, so instead of giving you posts to just fill space, I decided it'd be better to just have a few more posts.

Anyways, on to my High Fives!

1. Last Friday I finally got my hair cut! It's a little different than I had planned, but it's been so much fun so far. I'm planning on growing it out a decent but after this, so I'm glad I got it shorter one more time.

2. We have a wedding this weekend, so I've been pumping since I'm still breastfeeding. It should be interesting because Juliet absolutely refuses to take a bottle, but drinks water out of a sippy cup. Fingers crossed she will do the same with milk. We haven't really left her all day like this since the last wedding we were a part of in March, so I'm a little anxious that everything will go okay for my parents.

3. I've got all kinds of DIYing going on over here this weekend and I'm so excited to get to share multiple projects with you this next week.

Can't get over this face!
4. I've started slowly planning Juliet's birthday party. I can't believe her birthday is getting so close, and that in about 2 months it'll be a whole year since I gave birth. Crazy! If you want to see some of my inspiration so far, check out my Pinterest board

5. We decided to re-paint our living so we took a trip to Lowes last weekend. Man, can you get sucked in there. We found so many different projects we'd like to do on top of picking some colors to think over. So much fun to plan all the things you may do someday!

How has your week been?

  1. Stopping by from the link up. Love the haircut!
I know ALLLLL about getting sucked into home projects. My husband and I just gave our kitchen a facelift by painting the walls, along with the cabinets! Our next project is the living room (just painting thankfully), and after that I think we'll take a break. Or hire someone else to do the rest :)
    Have a great weekend!!

  3. Loving the haircut - it suits you! I love reading about DIY projects but I'm so reluctant to start them as I know it will always take me too long to finish them - I wish they could be done instantly! Good luck with the birthday party planning, I'm sure it will be fab! Have a great weekend!

  6. Your hair looks amazing! My advice for her 1st birthday party is not to overdo it. Keep it simple so you're not ready to pull your hair out and can't enjoy the day. She's a cutie!

    1. Yeah that's true. I tend to overdo it sometimes. I'm looking forward to doing some DIY projects to share on here, but you're right I want to enjoy the day!

  7. stopping by from the link up :) My youngest turns one in November and I'm just starting to brainstorm some pinterest ideas :)
Hope you have fun at the wedding! My oldest refused a bottle but would take milk from a sippy as long as I wasn't around so hopefully your daughter will do the same!

    1. Juliet turns one in November, too!

Unfortunately she wouldn't take it from the sippy cup either. I'm hoping that if I keep working with her during her meals, she will be more willing to use the sippy cup. She's stubborn, so it's usually on her time even if she can already do it LOL

  8. Just found your blog through the link-up :) And I definitely know what you mean about getting sucked in at stores like Lowes and Home Depot. My fiance and I recently redid our upstairs bathroom and we made multiple trips to these stores - but it was all worth it in the end! Good luck!!

    1. Don't you feel like you want to do basically EVERY room in your house? haha but you are right, it's worth it when it's done!

  11. I got a 15 months old that NEVER ever took a bottle. About two months ago we finally found the right sippy cup and she drinks from a cup some...still breastfeeds but I'm weaning each week. We should be done in mid-Sept! Love the haircut! Happy Fall and Happy Friday!!!

    1. Ahhh! At least I'm not the only one in this boat. I will have to try some more sippy cups, we have Playtex, Munchkin, and Tommy Tippee so far but I may need to run to Babies R Us tomorrow and see if there's any others that she would like.

It's just hard because although I hate leaving her, I feel like my husband and I can never do anything that isn't after bedtime on the weekends!
