Tour Around Blogland

I have seriously loved blogging for the past few months and getting to know a lot of you through my blog. Being a stay at home mom, I really enjoy getting to have something that's all my own-something that I enjoy doing. This blog has really been such a wonderful creative outlet and I'm looking forward to getting to learn and grow even more!

I was nominated to be a part of the Tour Around Blogland by Tif at Bright on A Budget. The tour lets you guys know a little more about the magic behind the blog, and for you to get to meet some pretty great bloggers as well.

1. What am I working on?
Right now I am working on getting a whole new look together for the blog! It's definitely a process, but I'm hoping to have it done in the next couple weeks.

I'm also working on a couple collaborations with other bloggers and some new DIYs to share soon.

2. How does my work differ from others in its genre?
I think my work differentiates me from other bloggers because I truly am a lifestyle blog. I show all different aspects of my life, from DIYs and recipes to baby posts and fashion. Right now I really love getting to show you all aspects of my life.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I'm a stay at home mom, and although I love my little munchkin to the moon and back, I needed something that was just my own. I love getting to share bits and pieces of my life with you all.

Having a reason and a place to share my projects, recipes, and daily life experiences is the main reason I do what I do.

4. How does my writing/creating process work?
Oh my. It's kind of embarrassing. I am trying so hard to get myself together and have a schedule of
posts. My general process is writing down any ideas that I have in a cute little notebook I carry around everywhere. I also use the Evernote app to keep track of different ideas that hit me, or specific lists of what I would like to get done that day, etc.

What usually happens? Either the night before, or sometimes the morning of my post, I am on my computer typing, editing photos, and starting the basics of posts I have ideas for. I generally have an idea of what posts I want to do each day, but if I'm not feeling it that day when I'm writing, I don't post it. I don't want to put something out that isn't my best writing so sometimes it changes on the fly.

I also try to do multiple projects on the weekends or on the evenings that I am really feeling motivated and then take pictures as I go or of the finished project. That way when I am stuck for a post I already have some material waiting for me.

Now I have asked 3 other bloggers to join in on the fun! Be sure to go over and check out their blogs, and say hello. Their posts will be up on September 30, but feel free to check them out now!

Meet Kat from Lemonade Linings

Hey there, I'm Kat! I'm a newly engaged twenty-something who loves ice cream, reality television and obsessing over my little rescue mutt, Bertuzzi. Lemonade Linings is stuffed to the gills with musings of style, beauty, recipes, organization and how to survive your "young adult" years.

Meet Amanda from Meet @ the Barre
Hi I'm Amanda I blog over at Meet @ the Barre.  I am a Barre instructor as one of my numerous jobs but I love to talk about all things fitness and fashion on a realistic budget.  I try to keep things light and funny around here.  Oh I'm also engaged and planning a Wedding!  I am getting married in February and time is really flying! Honestly some days need more than 24 hours in my life.

  1. Glad that my process isn't the only 1 that's kind of last minute:)

  2. My process sounds so similar! I either do really good with getting a lot of posts done and scheduled at once, or I have like a dozen half ideas that I'm scrambling to get up in time. But I'm the same way, I don't like posting just to post if I'm not totally happy with what I have.

    1. I have moments where the post sounds so good in my head, and then I start writing and I'm like, "Boring!" haha
