High Five for Friday!

Welcome to another week of High Five for Friday! I'm so glad to have you here.

Our featured blog is The Sequin Notebook. I love these ladies and have had a great time getting to know them a little more through their posts. Best friends and bloggers? Great combination in my book! Head over and give their blog some love.

1. We had a rough past week or so. Jay came down with a really bad stomach flu that kept him sick for about 5 days. I slept on the couch to try to avoid getting sick. Just as he got to feeling a bit better, Juliet caught it. There's nothing quite as sad as a baby getting sick and looking so confused. So, it's been a long, sleepless past week.

2. Because of the sickness, I wasn't able to get into the salon and get my hair taken care of like I was hoping. So next week it is! I've got it scheduled and I cannot wait. I don't think I've ever needed a haircut so bad.

3. My really good friend is having a baby shower tomorrow and I'm really excited to go and see all the little baby things that she gets. There's just something about baby showers that get me all mushy and happy.

4. We went to pick out flooring for our laundry room last night.  As usual, we didn't really see anything that we were in love with and was a good deal, so were going to look some probably later today's or Saturday morning because the goal is to have new flooring this weekend! Love when we get new projects going.

5. I'm looking for some great clean eating snack recipes for before and after work. I am getting back into a regular routine with working out, but man eating clean is killing me. All I want is sweets! Ugh. It's a huge struggle. Anything you guys have would be wonderful!

How was your week? I'd love to hear from you!

  2. I was around for a friend's little 2 year old to get his first stomach bug and it really was sad to hear him not realize what's going on. I don't really do a lot with kids, but baby showers are absolutely so much fun! Any shower, really just get me in the party mood! I'm on my 4th day of giving up carbs and it really is such a struggle. I want all of the sweets too and I just can't do it if I want to feel better. I love eating them but I hate the way they make me feel. I've been having mini spicy sausage quiche for breakfast and get to have my first fruit of the week, so I'm looking forward to an apple with sunflower seed butter as my snack this morning! Happy Friday!

    1. They are just so pitiful and I don't blame them! It's gotta be the most confusing thing to get sick for the first time. I haven't tried sunflower seed butter! And the quiche sounds delicious. I'll have to look up the recipe!

  5. I hope your family feels better soon. My baby boy was sick last week, and it was so hard on him and me. Enjoy getting your hair done. There is nothing like getting a new haircut!

    1. It's so hard to take care of yourself when they are so sick. Getting my hair done was amazing! It's so nice to have some time for myself.
