High Five for Friday!

Hey everyone and welcome back to another week of H54F!

This week's featured blogger is Colletta from Colletta's Kitchen Sink. I can't wait to try her chocolate zucchini bread recipe! Check out her blog and leave some love.

1. Did you get a chance to join our Google Hangout last night? It was a lot of fun! If not, no worries. Check out my previous post, there's links to watch the recording!

2. Our washer went kaput last week. We're having a hard time deciding what we want, but I think we may just go tonight and buy one. You never think about how much laundry you do until you can't.

3. We've officially got a potty trainer! Juliet went back and forth so many times about it, but she's doing great! Naptime and bedtime still require a pull up or diaper, but other than that she's had very few accidents! Yay!

4. I scored about 20 pieces of used clothing for Juliet for $10. A lot of pieces are play condition, but that's fine with me! She went up a size, so I have very little for her to wear right now. She was super excited about a few of the clothes.

5. I've been on a waffle kick lately. It's all I want for breakfast. We've got some whole grain frozen ones right now, but I'm thinking about making a huge batch from scratch and freezing them. They are just so much better that way! Plus, I wouldn't mind trying some blueberries in them. Yum!

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!

Google Hangout-Join Us Tonight!

Hey all! So, today is the day! Our first official High Five for Friday Google Hangout.

We've talked about starting a monthly Google Hangout for a while now, and tonight is the night!

Join us TONIGHT at 9:30PM EST for our very first LIVE Google Hangout!

Here's how it will work.

At 9:30PM you'll be able to watch a live stream of me, Della, Katie and Tif gabbing away! Since this is our first Hangout, we're planning a little "get to know us" session.

There are quite a few ways to watch! You can watch right here, on this post!

You can also watch on Google+ or YouTube!

You don't need a Google+ account to watch. BUT you will need one if you want to ask us questions live. But if you don't have one, no worries! You can still watch LIVE!

If you can't make it, don't worry about that either! We will be recording, and it will be available to watch later, whenever you want.

We are so excited to have you join us at 9:30PM tonight! Just remember, this is our first time. It could be really entertaining, or a really big failure! But either way, it will be worth watching. HAHA!

See you tonight!

High Five for Friday!

Hey there and welcome to another week of H54F! Make sure to sop by and say hey to my co-hosts, Tif at Bright on a Budget, Della at Della Devoted, and Katie at Cup of Tea.

Our featured blogger this week is Mariah from Faith and Fashion. I've loved getting to know her a little better through her blog, and look how adorable her little one is!  Make sure you stop by and give her some love!

We're finalizing plans for our LIVE Google Hangout on Thursday, August 27, at 9:30PM EST! It will be super easy to join! Just prior to the Hangout going live, we'll be sending out a link to watch the live stream. You'll be able to find that link here, on our blogs, but we'll also be sure to tweet, FB, etc it out! Then you'll be able to join me, Katie, Della & Tif LIVE! You don't need a Google+ account to watch! We can't wait to give this a whirl.

Just bear in mind that this is our first time doing this, and it may be rough. 😉

And now here's this week's 5:

1. I've been having a hard time getting Juliet on a schedule in the mornings. Every single day our schedule is different because I leave at different times, and have two days off throughout the week. It's rough. Any thoughts are appreciated!

2.  My hubby is basically amazing and installed a reverse osmosis drinking system into our kitchen last night. I'm super excited because it filters out 10x more crap than the pitchers do. Yay for clean water!

3. I've got to find something to do with my mess that is my hair. I don't know what the deal is this summer, but it's frizzy and flat, something I've never had a problem with. A little Youtubing is in order this weekend.

4. Last Friday evening we headed to Tecumseh Outdoor Drama. My in-laws got us VIP tickets for an early bday present for me, so we were able to get a backstage tour, dinner, and great seats. Highly recommend for anyone!

5.  I've been looking at new phones because mine is slowly dying a painful death. Since when do you now have to pay full price for the phone even if your two year contract is up?! Monthly payments for the phone, too, yeah no thanks. I guess I'll be waiting a little longer until I get my head wrapped around this.

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!

10 Projects I'm Dying to Try

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to get to share my second week of my new "10 Things" blog series. This week is 10 projects I'm dying to try.

1. Decorating my cubicle at work.
I've gotten a few things so far, but it is still so blah when I'm stuck there all day. I'll be ordering some cute pictures to hang and brighten it up, also.

2. Tshirt transfers cut out on my new Cricut.
I sadly still have not gotten my Cricut out. I have been reading about it, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. That's going to change tonight! I can't wait to show you my first try.

3. Making Juliet a tulle dress for her birthday party.
We're doing a beautiful fairy tale party for our little princess, so of course she needs an adorable dress to wear to her party.  Check out my Pinterest board for all the ideas we've found for her party so far!

4. Hand lettering a chalkboard for my picture wall.
I've always loved the hand lettering that people do on their chalkboards, so after investing in some chalk pens, I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

5. Hemming/hanging curtains in my living room.
I got a wonderful deal on curtains for my living room months ago,  but I've been having a hard time finding rods. I'm determined to get those up and finally really finishing out living room.

6. Making roman shades for my laundry room.
We redid our laundry room a while back, but I've had a hard time finding something that I like and that won't break the budget. Hello, Pinterest, and a great, affordable way to put up cute curtains!

7. Papering the back of my office bookshelf.
I found the cutest quatrefoil to paper the back of my bookshelf from college to make it fresh and more cohesive with what I want my office to look like.

8. Painting the desk in my office.
Another fun but cheap way to update my office without having to buy new furniture. I love this color scheme!

9. Redoing my outdoor wood furniture.
Another great way to update the look of our outdoor living area without having to spend a ton. The furniture has been weathered, but it's still in great shape. All I need to do is a little sanding and some painting and it will look great.

10. Making homemade lotion.
I found a great recipe online involving coconut oil, vitamin e oil, and some lavender essential oil. I love using coconut oil as a moisturizer, so this will be a wonderful treat for my dry skin.

What projects are you most looking forward to doing? Did you have 10 things you shared this week? Let me know in the comments!

High Five for Friday!

Welcome back to another week of H54F! Katie at Cup of Tea, Tif at Bright on a Budget, and Della at Della Devoted are so glad you are here.

Our featured blogger this week is Trish from Tales from Trish. She's newer to our weekly link up, and we are so glad to have her! I love that she crochets, the blanket that she made is adorable. I hope one day to have her skillz 😊 Make sure to check her blog out, and give her some love!

Now for this week's 5:
1. I've had my first week off from classes, and although it's been wonderful, I've been fighting off something so I've basically been sleeping the majority of my down time.

2. I started new blog series called 10 Things on Wednesday. Check it out and please join in next week!

3. Did you know that curtain rods are stupidly expensive? I'm all about getting a deal, but $100 on curtain rods when I didn't even spend that on the curtains? Yep, not happening. Let me know if you have a good place to look!

4. Juliet is slowly working on potty training again. Yesterday Jay looked away for a minute, and Juliet decided to go potty. This is the result:

5. I'm beginning to work on the disaster that is my home office/studio space. I've been putting it off because I've had so much going on, but now I'm so excited to get it clean and functioning again. Plus I've got a few decorating projects I'm excited to try up there 😊

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!

10 Things: A New Blog Series

In the spirit of getting back into the swing of the blogosphere, I have decided to start a new series called "10 Things." Every so often I will be posting ten things. Ten things I'm grateful for, ten things I'm doing, ten things of something.

It should be a fun little series, and if you're a blogger, you are welcome to join in! I will be posting on Wednesdays.

This week, I will be sharing 10 things you may not know about me.

10 Things You May Not Know About Caitlin:

1. I learned how to play clarinet, and quickly picked up multiple different instruments including the french horn and saxophone. What I'd really like to learn? The guitar.

2. I love to knit, but when I learned that crocheting was so much faster, it's all I want to do now! I'm currently making Juliet a little ruffly skirt for her birthday.

3. I switched my major three times in undergrad. I started in fashion design, then biology, and finished my degree in journalism. There's just so many great options out there, if I could learn it all I would.

4. I was a varsity cheerleader in high school and did all star cheerleading. Don't ask me to do any of that crazy tumbling now, but I have videos to prove it ;)

5. I'm a dreamer, but I tend to lack follow through. It's something I am constantly trying to improve.

6. When I was a kid, I was a bookworm. Like walking home from the library with books stacked to my chin kinda bookworm. I still love to read, I just don't have the time as much as I used to.

7. I hate working out. I do it because I like that it makes me feel stronger and healthier and I know it's good for me, but there's never really ever been a time that I've thought, "I can't wait to do my workout!"

8. I've always wanted to start my own business. Being my own boss and creating with my hands? Yep, sounds wonderful to me!

9. I love giving gifts. I want to buy/make gifts for everyone I care about, and I love getting to see people's faces when they are opening a gift. It makes my heart happy :)

10. I'm messy. Not dirty, not disorganized, but messy. I have to work to remember to put little things away, but I'm slowly getting better! (just don't ask my hubby ;)

There you have it. 10 things you may not know about me. What's something I don't know about you?

High Five for Friday

Welcome to another wonderful week of High Five for Friday! Make sure you check out my lovely co-hosts, Katie at Cup of Tea, Della at Della Devoted, and Tif at Bright on a Budget.

First up... we've been brainstorming :) Remember a few weeks back I randomly said we're thinking about extra ways to get to know one another with H54F? Details/more info is coming, but mark your calendar for Thursday, August 27 at 9:30PM EST for a Google Hangout! We're kind of envisioning everyone with a drink, in their PJs, curled up on the sofa for a good ol' chat. But stay tuned!

Lots going on this week! Let's dice right in!

1. I went for a Mayan Abdominal Massag on Monday. They are known to help fertility, but it was also one of the most relaxing things I've ever done. I will definitely be going back to Suzi, even if it's just a regular massage.

2. This is my finals week and then I'm free for 3 weeks! I'm so excited to have some free time, I've got a lot of projects and some fun posts that'll be coming up soon.

3. We went to have dinner with our friends from church last night. Even in the midst of two whiny toddlers, it was still a great night with some great people. It's so nice to get together with some great people.

4. My skin has decided to go nuts lately. I'm looking into different types of natural skin care products that will help the dryness and breakouts that have decided to plague me. Any non toxic ideas are appreciated :)

5. I am officially a Cricut owner! Sadly, no projects yet but keep a lookout on Instagram and Facebook this weekend, I know I will be getting my hands on it as soon as my last papers are turned in.

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!
