10 Memes that make me LOL

It's been a few weeks since my last "10 Things" post. This is such a fun one! I don't know if any of you find the memes all over the internet absolutely hilarious, but I definitely do. I love getting on Pinterest (go figure right?) and finding some hilarious ones.

I may or may not be known to send random memes to friends and family based on whether I think they would appreciate the hilarity as much as I do. (Also, little kids and Jennifer Lawrence, what isn't funny about that?!)

Here's the latest and greatest that I've found:

High Five for Friday!

Welcome to another week of H54F,hosted by Della at Della Devoted, Tif at Bright on a Budget, and Katie at Cup of Tea

Thanks so much for everyone who stopped by last weekend for the Google Hangout! We had so much fun. If you missed out or loved it so much that you want to watch it again, check out my last post for the video of the entire thing :)

This week's featured blogger is Sheryl from How to Make a Life. I've really enjoyed some of her posts about really taking care of yourself, and especially about remembering that you will get through the hard times. Definitely speaks to me in the place I'm in right now.

Now let's get on to this week's 5!

1. Juliet and I have been sick with some nasty cold all week. We are both slowly getting better, but man am I still exhausted.

2. I got to meet a wonderful photographer last weekend through an event at work. Rick Guidotti has an amazing company that works to take beautiful photos of children with different illnesses and syndromes to bring awareness and show their true beauty. Check out Positive Exposure for more info!

3. I'm finally making the switch to more glass containers than plastic. Were heading to get Juliet glass and metal cups instead of plastic. With all the research that even the BPA free plastic may not be good for you, it's really been on my mind and I'm glad we're in the position to be able to switch more of our plastic over to safer products. It's definitely been a process to try to go more green.

4. We saw the War Room a few weekends ago, and it really spoke to me about my own prayer life. The Battle Plan for Prayer is a book that to touches on the same things as in the movie, and really teaches you to purposefully and powerfully prayer for what's going on in your life. I highly recommend it based on what I've gotten through so far.

5. We went to the Arts in the Alley in Grove City on Sunday. I found the prettiest necklace and got to try out my brand new Tula carrier which Juliet loved. Plus we got a pretty great photo of all 3 of us if I do say so :)

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!

P.S. Don't forget about our next Google Hangout Sesh next Thursday at 9:30 pm E.T.! We will be sharing some blogging basics for this month, a definite must watch! Check back in the next week for more details!

High Five for Friday!

Welcome to another week of H54F,hosted by Della at Della Devoted, Tif at Bright on a Budget, and Katie at Cup of Tea.

Our featured blogger this week is Kelly from Familiar Joy. I absolutely adore her cute blog, she's got 4 adorable kids, and I love her style of writing. Make sure you stop by and show her some love!

And here's this week's 5:

1. Last weekend Juliet and I made a trip down to Cincinnati to buy a Tula baby carrier. Oh my gosh, it was so much fun! My MIL came too, so we made a little trip out if it and went to all the little shops in the area too.

2. I was able to make some homemade lotion this week and I'm loving it!  I'm excited to share the recipe with you all this coming week.

3. I have been messing with the Cricut on and off trying to make some tshirts. The one for my hubby was a huge fail, but Juliet's turned out perfect!

4. First Watch has pumpkin spice pancakes! Juliet and I made a stop there this week after a doctors appointment, and as usual they didn't disappoint!

5. I found the most adorable little motivational signs at Joann Fabrics. For $5 plus a 30% off coupon, I knew that little beauty needed a home in my office.

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!

P.S. Don't forget about our next Google Hangout Sesh next Thursday at 9:30 pm E.T.! We will be sharing some blogging basics for this month, a definite must watch! Check back in the next week for more details!

Cozy Up for Fall

Even though it's about a million degrees here in Ohio, September has hit and my mind is on fall. Warm, rich colors mixed with a golden sun. There's the smell of the leaves changing and warm, spicy drinks during crisp evenings.

Fall screams cozy to me.  Here's just a few ways I get cozy in the fall:

A warm mug of my fave pumpkin coffee.

A nice, cuddly blanket like this cashmere one from Parachute Home

Cozy slipper socks to keep my toes warm.

An oversized and lived in sweater.

Pumpkin and spiced baked goods fresh out of the oven.

How do you welcome the change of season into your home? Do you enjoy the cooler weather?

High Five for Friday!

Welcome to another week of H54F,
hosted by Della at Della Devoted, Tif at Bright on a Budget, and Katie at Cup of Tea.

This week's featured blogger is Chelsea at The Perfect Catch blog. I love her maternity style and she's hosting the cutest scarf swap! You know I love me a good swap. Check it out and show Chelsea some love.

And here's this week's 5:

1. Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer! Yay! I found some at Target, and even though I'm not much of a coffee creamer user generally, I LOVE this creamer. Highly recommend :) also, I want to try the Star Wars one. The spiced latte looks delicious.

2. My birthday was Tuesday, so we celebrated this weekend and it was a wonderful time. My fave gift? My new Michael Kors rose gold watch! Gotta love the outlets.

3. We watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead 2 a couple days ago and I'm officially juicing again. I really fell of the bandwagon, so it's a good start to being healthy again.  I'm thinking of doing one of Joe's reboot, check them out here

4. Juliet is finally a waffle fan! Who knew I just needed to make her some blueberry compote! (The pic is blurry, but I couldn't resist sharing that little grin!)

5. I've got a new blog layout and design! I'm so excited to share it with you all. I'm still tweaking and changing some things, but I'm super happy with how it turned out! It feels more me now :)

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!

10 Things I Love about my 26th Birthday

Yesterday was my 26th birthday, and I've gotta say this year has both flown by and felt like it has dragged on at different points.

I'm a different person than I was when I turned 25.  I've got a toddler, and I've lost 4 babies. That changes a person. I'm a working mama now, and my relationship with God has deepened more than it has in years. So, even though it's been an incredibly hard year, I'm sharing the 10 things that I've loved about my 26th birthday.

1. I got  a full, uninterrupted day of shopping this weekend. This hasn't happened since before I was pregnant with Juliet!

2. I saw War Room and it's completely changed how I view my prayer life. I'm so excited to share more about it with you soon :)

3. I've gotten time to work with some crafty projects, which is always good for my soul. It's a release.

4. I'm looking forward to planning Juliet's second birthday party and have had so much fun shopping for it.

5. My hubby is so wonderful and bought me lavish and wonderful gift this year, a Michael Kors watch. I love the rose gold!

6. I'm looking forward to getting more organized and having a well running house. I'm slowly getting the hang of this wife/mama thing, hopefully 26 is my year.

7. I'm looking to the future of having more children. Whether that involves finally carrying another pregnancy to term, or adopting, I know our family will grow.

8. Shopping for a little girl is so much fun and spending some money on my birthday weekend in her was so much fun. She's definitely going to be better dressed than me. And I love it!

9. I made the switch to a brand new blog layout! I'm in l-o-v-e. Seriously, I totally and completely adore it. If you are a blogger in the market for reasonably priced, wonderful designs with a great designer, check out Kreated by Kelsey on Etsy!

10. Carrot cake cupcakes homemade by my mom. Seriously what is better than that?

Oh, and another neat birthday thing? Della at Della Devoted and I share the same birthday! Head over and give her some birthday love :)

High Five for Friday!

Welcome to another week of High Five for Friday! Make sure to stop by and say hello to my co-hosts, Tif at Bright on a Budget, Della at Della Devoted, and Katie at Cup of Tea.

And now this week's 5:

1. We finally got a new washer and dryer! Our washer died about 2 weeks ago but we just couldn't decide on a new one, especially with the high prices. We totally lucked out that Appliance Smart started their Labor Day sale last weekend.

2. This coming Tuesday is my birthday. Which means we have a fun weekend filled with family and doing some fun things. Make sure to check back next week and follow Instagram photos of what we are doing this weekend! (And Monday we are going to the Ohio Renaissance Festival, yay!)

3. We have a blow up pool in our backyard that we have used so much this summer especially to keep Juliet cooled off. My baby can now stand in it on her own. Makes me happy and sad all at the same time.

4. I made my first Cricut project finally! It's a simple card, but I love it. I found some paper at Joann's last night for a great deal, so I'm excited to work on some projects for Juliet's birthday party!

5. I'm getting back on the clean eating, working out bandwagon. It's been so hard this year with the emotional and physical roller coaster of having 4 miscarriages, but I know I need to focus on myself and make sure I'm healthy for the family I have right now and hopefully another little one in the future. On today's agenda is the Butt Bible ( it's fun :) and hopefully food prepping some breakfasts and snacks, which is where I struggle the most to make good decisions.

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!

10 Things I Want You to Know About Recurrent Miscarriage

Hey all! I'm back for my next post in my "10 Things" blog series. I'm so glad you've joined me.  This week's post is a little more serious, but something so close to my heart.

As of this week, I've now had four miscarriages in the past 8 months on the journey to trying to conceive our second child. It's hard. It's sad. And it's lonely.

Here's a few things I want you to know about recurrent miscarriage (and miscarriage in general):

1. Being supportive of a miscarriage mama means just being there.
She may not want to talk about it, or maybe she does.  Maybe she just needs to cry, or a good distraction for a few hours. You don't have to say anything, just let her know you are there for her.

2. Comments like "you're young you'll be fine" or "it happened for a reason" or "God has a plan" or "at least you can get pregnant" often hurt more than they help.
These comments are so hard because usually it's well meaning friends and family that say these, but that doesn't mean that it still doesn't hurt regardless of intention. God having a plan doesn't mean losing this baby doesn't hurt. And being young doesn't mean you can't be infertile. It may not happen. And getting pregnant and staying pregnant are two very different things. That's painful obvious to a woman that has gone through multiple miscarriages.

3. Early miscarriages are still a loss of a child.
Just because you miscarry a week or two after finding out you are pregnant does not mean that you didn't lose a child. When that second line appears on that test, you begin to plan even when you try not to. A loss is a loss no matter when it happens.

4.  Secondary infertility is not any easier or less traumatic than any other infertility.
Just because a woman has a child does not change that she has had another loss or problems getting pregnant. To tell her that at least she has a child is negating the pain of losing her other babies, or not being able to get pregnant. Her love for her child is not tied into her sadness for her losses.

5. Miscarriage is isolating.
It can cause a mama to really feel like she is the only one on this hard road. And it gets harder and harder with each loss.

6. Infertility treatment is stressful and life consuming.
There comes a point after a few losses that infertility treatment is started. Bloodwork of more tubes than I cared to count were drawn, different avenues of medication are explored, outpatient surgery is sometimes prescribed, and sometimes there just aren't answers. Not knowing and constantly being tested for this or that consumes your life.

7. Don't say "just relax and it'll happen."
I'm glad that worked well for you, and I'm so glad you have your beautiful baby now. But don't make it seem that I'm doing something wrong. There could be hormone imbalances, low fertility in one or both partners, or even an autoimmune disorder that is affecting a couple from having a baby. Relaxing doesn't work for everyone, even if they've already had a baby.

8. Don't ask when someone is going to have more children.
This is one I was definitely guilty of before I had my miscarriages. It seems harmless, but for someone who is struggling to have a child, this simple comment cuts like a knife. When someone asks me this, I just keep thinking that I should be having a baby in 18 days. But instead I'm tracking my hcg levels down to 0 from my 4th loss. And I really don't want to cry in front of you. So please, just remember you don't know what that woman is going through. Don't ask this question.

9. Everyone grieves differently.
Some mamas never talk about it. Some are very open about their losses. Others deny that it even happened. And it's all ok. Whatever that mama feels is ok.

10. Recurrent miscarriage, miscarriage, and infertility can happen to anyone.
You can't take enough vitamins, eat a certain way or live a certain lifestyle to avoid these issues.  They can still happen even if you do everything right. It's not your fault.

Have you or someone you know dealt with miscarriage or recurrent miscarriage? What is something you want others to know?

10 Things I Want You to Know About Recurrent Miscarriage
