Work Space Dreamin'

Untitled #10

My dream workspace has really been a work in progress since college. It’s been a lot of trial and error to figure out exactly what works for me, and my process is totally different depending on what task I am doing. Sometimes pounding out blog posts means heading to the local Starbucks or Panera, grabbing a coffee and zoning in. Other times it means going up to my “office” and working in the quiet of my upstairs. In the winter it can mean grabbing a cup of coffee (noticing a trend?) and sitting at my dining room table by our big window to work and look at our winter wonderland.
One thing every one of those scenarios has in common (well, besides the coffee) is that I need to be inspired. My little office in our house is still pretty hum-drum, although it is slowly shaping up. And it’s finally the next project on my list!
It's the one part of my house that's truly my own, not something that I have to compromise on style with my husband. A feminine feel with bright colors is what I'm really looking for. Fun pieces and inspirational pictures and quotes are definitely a must, too.

I am excited about this little inspiration board, and even more excited to slowly show you the progress that we are making in my workspace over the course of the next few months!

Now, if we are ever blessed with baby #2, I know this office wont be mine forever. I would love to do work space sharing at some point, and love the options that places like WeWork have for people in bigger cities. Now, if only we could find something similar in Ohio :)  I think it’s the coolest concept ever, and a great way to keep inspired in a space outside of your own home. I don't think I'll be able to finance my own office space for a very long time, so the idea of sharing is such a wonderful concept for someone like me.
What does your workspace look like? How do you keep yourself inspired?

  1. I would LOVE to have a dedicated space at home too, right now mine is in a hallway! but I also love claiming a little corner at the local Caribou :)
