Mug Swap 2015: Today's the Last Day!

Guys! Today is the last day to sign up for this year's 'Tis the Season Mug Swap. It's such a fun little tradition that Katie and I started last year, and we would love for you to be a part of it this year!

It's really pretty simple, you just sign up here, then we will pair you with a partner and send you both the information on Wednesday. You guys will email and get to know one another a little bit, then pick out a mug and send it to your partner by December 11.  When you get your package, share it with us on social media using the hashtag, #tistheseasonmug2015 and feel free to tag us!

For all the complete details for the swap, check out this post!

And make sure you check out my Instagram feed for some great ideas for mugs that I've found while out shopping.

High Five for Friday!

Hey all! Welcome to another week of High Five for Friday with Della, TiffKatie and I!

Our featured bloggers this week are Jess and Katie from Sweet Little Ones. I love the idea of blogging together, and they always have the cutest posts!

1. We had a wonderful little party last weekend for Juliet's birthday.  It was fun and small, and perfect for our little two year old. Stop by tomorrow to check out a special weekend post about it!

2. I had actually planned on posting the birthday post this week, but sadly everyone in our family is getting sick. I'm not nearly as bad as the hubby or Juliet, but I'm definitely feeling under the weather so I've been sleeping to try to kick this thing in the butt.

3. The Tis the Season Mug Swap deadline is next week! It's so much fun and super easy, I encourage you to check it out! Read more about it in this post or sign up here.

4. I've been crocheting like crazy lately for Christmas presents. I may have something else up my sleeve too, so stay tuned :)

5. I'm trying to clean up my eating habits again. It amazes me that I ate basically completely clean for 4 months last year. Sometimes I feel like I can't even make it a day right now.  I don't feel like the same person that did that. Hopefully I will be able to get my butt in gear, especially with the holidays coming up. Or you will see me gain 10+ lbs from all the sweet I devour haha. Anyone else feel this way?

How was your week? I'd love to hear!

High Five for Friday!

Hey all! Welcome to another week of High Five for Friday with Della, Tiff, Katie and I!

Our featured blogger this week is Annie from All Things Big and Small. I always love a blogger that has some awesome DIYs, and Annie definitely does! I especially love some of her home makeovers!

I'm gonna shake things up a bit this week and share 5 things I've recently bought that I'm super excited about.

1. I had a great find for Juliet's birthday party tomorrow: a turkey dress! Our theme is "Our Little Turkey is Turning Two" and while I had the best of intentions for making her another tutu, cleaning and decluttering combined with work just took over. But I'm super happy with this adorable outfit and bonus! She can wear it for Thanksgiving too.

2. BareMinerals has their holiday sets out! I ran out of a setting powder that I use, but I can never pass up the great deals they have at this time of year. $60 for powder, blush, cc eye primer because I've basically got the most ridiculous dark circles ever, and a makeup bag that was orginally $100.

3. This dress. I'm in love! It fits wonderful and it's perfect for my holiday work party that we have coming up in a few weeks. (It's really a lot prettier when it's on!)

4. Our curtains! I know it's not even a huge deal but when you've gone 3 years and never had any, it's something to get excited about!

5. My kitchen coffee signs. The top one is newest, and both are from my love, Hobby Lobby! We hung them the other day and they go perfectly in our little coffee corner in the kitchen.

How was your week? I'd love to hear!

Mug Guide: 2015

Mug Guide: 2015

In honor of the Tis the Season Mug Swap, I wanted to share some lovely mugs I've had my eyes on. They are great options for anyone in the swap!

If you take a look at the links above, they basically are all from Etsy. I have a love for all things handmade/locally made so Etsy makes my heart happy. Plus! I mean, where else will you find a Mean Girls AND Princess Bride mug?

If you are looking for something more brick and mortar, I really don't think you can ever go wrong with Target. I mean, who has ever walked in there and not found at least one thing they love?

Make sure you check out Katie's post for her fave mug choices too!

What mugs have you had your eye on lately? Tag us on social media and show us!

DIY Natural Lavender Lotion

If you've been around the blog for a while, you know that in the past year or so I have really tried to make the transition to both eating more healthy and organically and to using more natural, nontoxic products.

I absolutely love my Ava Anderson Non Toxic products, but although their lotion is great, it just simply isn't as moisturizing as I sometimes need, and I could literally go through the body butter in about 4 days.  I needed something that was both moisturizing and easy on the budget to get me by between my orders.

My love for Pinterest won again. I found just about the easiest recipe for DIY natural lotion that probably ever existed. And now I am sharing my tweaked version with you!

Ingredients:

1 cup organic unrefined virgin coconut oil
1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
15-20 drops lavender essential oil

1. Place all ingredients in mixing bowl.

2. Mix with a mixer until soft. Should have a whipped texture.

That's it! It took maybe 5 minutes to make. And the great thing about it is that it actually soaks into my skin fairly quickly. When I was using just coconut oil for moisturizer it always seemed to take a long while to soak in, but the combination really works well.

I found all of my ingredients at Whole Foods and got a great deal on them, so I was able to get all organic ingredients.

Do you make your own natural products at home? What are some of your go to recipes?

High Five for Friday!

Welcome back to another week of High Five for Friday with Tif, Della, Katie and I!

This week's featured blogger is Tiffanie from Terry's Go Round. She's got the two cutest littles, and I just love their names! Make sure to check out her lovely blog :)

1. First and foremost, it's time for Katie and I's Tis the Season Mug Swap 2015! Yay yay yay! I've already been looking at cute little mugs to get some inspiration. Check out yesterday's post for more info.

2. My (not so) little baby girl will be turning two tomorrow. I still can't wrap my head around it. Didn't I just finish planning her first birthday party? Didn't we just bring her home? This year has been crazy and sad and frustrating, but having her has made it all bearable and watching her grow has been the most heart wrenching and exciting thing I've ever done.

3. 12 bags! That's how many trash bags full of junk I've gotten rid of. We've been able to donate nearly all of it, which makes me feel better about it. Seriously, if you haven't read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, you need to! I haven't done it exactly as she explains, but it definitely has helped me know what I really need and what isn't necessary anymore. I'm really trying for simplicity.

4. The bathroom reno is nearly finished. It looks soooo good and Jay really has done a wonderful job. It's an extremely small, but it's now a very cheery room. I will be sharing next week!

5. I haven't been speaking much about our journey to healthier living, but I'm  really cracking down on the amount of plastic we are using, and I'm going to try a naturopath the help with our recurrent miscarriages. It's been a lot of research, a lot of sacrificing, and a lot of changes but I'm feeling really good about the path that we are taking as a family. Regardless of the outcome, I know it's right for our family.

How has your week been? I'd love to hear!
