Curing the Stomach Bug Naturally

We are on week three of some sort of illness plaguing our house. The most recent culprit being the stomach bug. Yuck, yuck, yuck. This winter has been one of the worst when it comes to this kind of junk than any other that I can remember. I'm positive that it's compounded by me working at a hospital and Juliet being in part time childcare. We're germ magnets!

The only thing that's been good this winter is that I now have a great arsenal of natural remedies to fight against all the nasties that we have come up against. And I'm so thankful for that!

For our recent stomach turning sickness, my go-tos were definitely my organic ginger tea, lemon and thieves essential oils, and my probiotics. I know that these made our ill time cut in half.

I diffused the lemon oil regularly while both Juliet and I were sick, and put thieves with coconut oil on our feet. Let me tell you, thieves has been a life changer. It's the single oil blend that made me believe in the goodness that are essential oils.

To help keep our immune systems boosted for the rest of the winter, I've been adding elderberry syrup twice a day and Ningxia red as a supplement to the rest of the vitamins I already take. Elderberry is a great natural source of vitamin C, which your body can metabolize way better than synthetic supplements.

And ningxia red, well there's just so much goodness wrapped up in this tiny container. It's a powerhouse super fruit blend with essential oils and can really help to support your energy levels. Check out more info here.

If you are interested in learning more about essential oils and Ningxia red, I'm co-hosting a Essential Oils 101 class this Friday, February 12 at 7 pm EST! I'd love to have you as a part of it. Just leave your email below and I will get you added :) If you are interested, but can't make that time, leave your email anyways. You'll be able to go back and read through all the wonderful info at a later time.

  1. I haven't tried essential oils before but was always curious. The ginger tea helps me a lot when I have a sore throat or when I can't stop coughing! Hope you all get well soon! :)
